Cranbourne Day Care & Kindergarten Centre

Cranbourne Day Care & Kindergarten Centre

Cranbourne Daycare & Kindergarten Center, also known as Judy Clarkson’s CDC&KC, proudly comprises 6 Education centres -5 Centre Based Care & 1 OSHC.

These centres are all located in central Cranbourne. In 1968, they celebrated their 50th anniversary of education in the community. Their educators and loving staff provide support to 800 families and teach them life skills they can use on their journey.

They are proud to offer small, intimate groups of children and train them from qualified teachers.

Every child receives a personalized educational program at their centre. They provide fully-funded kindergarten programs that are state-funded. These programs are taught in a highly skilled, respected, and dedicated manner by kindergarten teachers.

The program provides before-and after-school care to 14 schools within the area. They use seven minibuses as well as their ‘walking’ bus to ensure children are safe and get to school on time. Schoolie Central, an OSHC service specifically designed for children aged 6 and up, offers a program that is appropriate for them. It also has a BMX track and a basketball court. You can enjoy a packed vacation that includes many excursions/ incursions and plenty of fun during school holidays.

They will work together with their children, their teachers, and their families to create curriculums that reflect their values, beliefs, as well as the needs of their communities.

They will draw on current research and theories such as Socio-cultural Theory and Ecological Theory, as well as their professional expertise to continue personal development as well as critical reflection on pedagogies.

Their practice will be guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, The National Quality Framework (NQF), The Out of School Hours Car – My Time, Our Place, (OSHC), Early Childhood Australia Code of Ethics, and The United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child.

They will ensure their children are respectful of the environment and connected with it.

They believe that each child is unique and precious, and they are deeply connected with their families and the community.

They value and respect each child’s voice, are open to hearing it, and work to promote and celebrate their culture, talents, and interests.

Through meaningful and reciprocal interactions, their educators will try to establish a connection with their children and families. They will be able to better understand the strengths and interests of each child. This will help them to understand each child and their individual strengths and interests.

They believe that children are capable and intelligent and empower them with the ability to make decisions about their learning and care.

They will encourage resilience and support children to take calculated risks.

They will ensure an equitable and non-biased education program. This is possible through deep understanding of each child’s developmental needs and using appropriate teaching techniques to suit their learning styles. Their educators foster trust and empathy and model respect and kindness. They support children’s sense of belonging and purpose in their service and communities.

They believe that safety and the rights of children is what is most important.

Their families have the greatest impact on their children’s learning and well being. They share this knowledge through open communication and respectful relationships.

They encourage and welcome family participation in the program. This recognizes the many positive learning opportunities this program offers for all children. Their educators recognize the importance of keeping their families informed about their children’s learning and experiences as they form partnerships.

They value and embrace the individuality of each family’s culture, and create a welcoming and warm environment for everyone.

Cranbourne Day Care teachers are dedicated to excellence and bring their uniqueness, diversity and passion into their work.

Their knowledge, cultural background, and professional experience allow them to offer families a team of early childhood professionals that foster children’s growth, wellbeing, and cultural competence.

Their educators are committed towards continuing professional learning. Their educational leaders, management, as well as other staff, support them in engaging in professional and reflective practice.

Cranbourne Day Care feels a strong and natural connection with its community. Cranbourne Day Care is proud to share the strength and knowledge that comes from working with local families. They have been working in partnership for more than 50 years.

They work with other professional support agencies in order to ensure every child has the chance to achieve their full potential. They also support families.

They acknowledge the Bunurong people as their traditional custodians and will continue to build respectful relationships with Elders and other community members. These relationships and connections can help children gain a greater awareness of the environment and a sense of belonging.
